History John Stroemer started his career and developed his expertise with Coopers & Lybrand. John joined Markham Norton Stroemer & Company, the predecessor to Stroemer & Company, in 1990. John pioneered the development of the firm's audit department. On October 1, 2003, the Audit Division of Markham Norton Stroemer & Company emerged as an independent full service CPA firm serving Southwest Florida. This is a quality review that CPA firms are subject to nationwide. We have participated in the Peer Review since its inception (16 years) and have always received top ratings. The Peer Review process involves being audited by another CPA firm who reviews the firm’s system of quality control in our accounting and auditing practices. During the audit process our system of quality control is tested to ensure that we maintain technical competency and that the procedures we established conform to professional standards.
